Celebrating 25 Years!
Dear Friends/Supporters,
As we look back on the first 25 years of Greater Boston Stage Company, We’re thrilled to share some exciting news about our future. Over the next year, we’re embarking on a major renovation of our theatre space – a project designed to elevate your experience and enhance accessibility for all our patrons.
Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming:
- Reimagined Seating: We’re replacing and reconfiguring our seats to include added aisles and improved accommodations for wheelchair patrons. This means a more comfortable and inclusive theatre experience for everyone.
- Fresh Look: Both our theatre and lobby will be repainted and re-carpeted, and our concession area will be upgraded, creating a vibrant, welcoming environment for all our guests.
- Upgraded Sound & Wiring Systems: We’re installing a state-of-the-art assisted-listening system and making key upgrades to our sound and wiring infrastructure.
These incredible improvements are possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters, with over $600,000 pledged from StonehamBank, Stoneham Ford, The State of Massachusetts, and other foundations and corporations. But we’re not stopping there!
We’re just $150,000 away from adding three additional elements to our renovation project:
- A New Lighting Grid: This will vastly improve our lighting and scenic capabilities, allowing us to create even more stunning productions.
- A Theatre Curtain: For the first time, we’ll be able to introduce a theatre curtain to our space, enhancing the theatrical experience.
- Gallery Space Updates: We’ll be adding a new single-stall accessible bathroom, making our gallery space even more welcoming.
Here’s How You Can Help:
1. Capital Gift: Consider making a one-time capital gift before October 1, 2025, to support our exciting additions. Your contribution will have a lasting impact on the future of GBSC.
2. Buy a Seat: As part of our “Buy A Seat” initiative, you can purchase a new seat for $500 and dedicate it with a personalized name plaque on the armrest. This is a unique opportunity to leave a lasting mark on our theatre and celebrate our 25th anniversary. Seats are limited, so don’t miss your chance to be a permanent part of our theatre’s history!
3. 100 for 100: Powering the Stage: We’re thrilled to launch our “100 for 100: Powering the Stage” initiative, seeking 100 dedicated supporters to contribute $100 a month for 10 months or $83.33 a month for 12 months. Your donation will support our upcoming season, ongoing renovations, and provide flexible funds for our most urgent needs, with the goal of raising $100,000 to sustain our future. As a “100 for 100” donor, you’ll play a vital role in our success and enjoy exclusive benefits, including special recognition and invitations to VIP events.
